CHAPTER 22.

AN ACT to repeal an act, entitled "an act granting premiums to persons killing wolves in Tippah, Marshall, Chickasaw, Neshoba, Newton, Lafay. ette, and Ponola counties, approved May 13th, 1837; and so much of "an act granting premiums to persons killing wolves in the counties of Tishemingo, Itawamba, Attala, and Yallobusha," approved February 8th, 1838.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the above recited act, approved 13th May, 1837, repealed, and so much of the act granting premiums to persons killing wolves in the counties of Tishemingo, Itawamba, Attala, and Yallobusha, approved February 8th, 1838, be, and the same are hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 23.

AN ACT to protect Public Bridges from injury. SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That if any person or persons shall injure or destroy any bridge in this state, which shall have been established by the proper authority, for the

convenience of the public, with intent to prevent or to obstruct travelling over such bridge, such person or persons shall be deem'ed guilty of a misdemeanor, and shall upon conviction thereof, be fined in the sum of five hundred dollars; and shall in addition thereto, be liable to a civil action for the amount of damage done to such bridge, which action, it shall be the duty of the president of the board of police of the county in which the bridge is situated, to institute such suit in his own name for the use of the county.

CHAPTER 24.

AN ACT to repeal an act, entitled "an Act to guard against the insolvency of the Banks and moneyed corporations in this State, and to secure the rights of creditors." Approved, 12th May, 1837.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legisla ture of the State of Mississippi, That the above recited act be, and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 25.

AN ACT to amend the law as to leases of the 16th sections.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the lessees of sixteenth sections and all other school lands, shall be authorized to, and may maintain and carry on, all such suits at law, or in equity immediately after the leasing as they could or might maintain or carry on were they the fee simple owners of the leased premises, except as against the lessors.

CHAPTER 26.

AN ACT concerning Sheriff's commissions.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legisla ture of the State of Mississippi, That so much of the first section of the act entitled "an act establishing the fees of certain officers therein named," passed June 29th, 1822, as allows the sheriffs half commissions for levying a fieri facias when the sale is stayed by injunction or supersedeas, or when the property is not sold for the want of bidders or other cause; and also, an act entitled "an act to amend an act entitled, an act establishing the fees of certain officers therein named,"
