I am only interested in the Bucks branch, and find the book to be a wealth of valuable information. However, I do take exception with the unsourced statement on p.233 under Moses Doan that states about the man who shot him, Captain Robert Gibson -- It is said that Gibson was not voluntarily one of the party, but was suspected of being implicated with the Doanes in their illgotten gains, and it is supposed he shot Moses to close his mouth against the utterance of testimony against himself.
Captain Robert Gibson fought for six years in the Revolution with Kennedy and Hart, and was indeed voluntarily one of the party. He was about 60, and would not have been a member in this gang who were in their 30s. He probably did have a personal motive -- Moses had broken into his home to rob him just seven weeks previous to Moses death; Moses had probably terrorized his whole family, which included his new pregnant bride. Note there is no mention under his brother Aarons page that the same Captain Robert Gibson, who positively identified him in jail the following year, was a co-conspirator. Including unsourced defamation of character does this book a decided disservice.
