Houses in. the community are inadequate due to access problems associated with transportation such as poor roads; frequent electric and water outages; environmental factors such as open sewage ditches, open trash containers and stray rabid dogs and cats; lack of zoning laws for control of factories in relation to housing areas; and the ever present threat of terrorist activities. 10. The 200 unit project is the third of three phases of construction projects to eliminate the deficit of adequate housing. The second phase of 400 units is in the FY 82 Program. Command, Rapid Deployment Force Headquarters, a tactical fighter wing with UH-1, F-4D and F-16 aircraft, and an aerospace rescue and recovery squadron detachment with UH-1 aircraft. Construction of 26 Military Family Housing units with all necessary supporting facilities. Project design will provide townhouses and single family housing. Composition of project is shown below. Housing will include heating, air conditioning, and appliances (range, refrigerator, dishwasher, disposer). Supporting facilities will include all site preparation, utility systems, roads, parking, sidewalks, and landscaping. Project composition: REQUIREMENT: Selected senior officer and senior NCO must live on base due to critical duty assignments. 11. 12. CURRENT SITUATION: No on base housing is available due to JDA and JCSE expansion and previously designated critical positions. 13. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: assigned mission. RDJTF would be unable to accomplish DEC 90-276 0-82-61 Item 10. Proposed Project: Units are programmed for construction for key and mission essential positions in direct support of the Rapid Deployment Joint Task Force Headquarters (RDJTF HQ). These units are required for officers in the grades of 05 and up. There is a shortage of houses adequate for these officer grades in the current inventory of military public quarters. Project will provide four.bedroom officer units for nine generals, 14 senior grade and three field grade officers. |
