10 DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION
Reinforced concrete footings and floor slab, masonry walls, structural
steel frame and roof system with built-up roof. Utilities and necessary
support. All electrical, structural and mechanical required to provide
an effective, functional facility. Includes gymnasium, sauna, exercise
and locker rooms, latrines, mechanical and storage space.

REQUIREMENT: 20,850 SF ADEQUATE: 10,950 SF SUBSTANDARD: 0 PROJECT: Construction of a gymnasium to provide space for physical conditioning and indoor sports. REQUIREMENT: A facility is required to provide adequate space for physical conditioning and recreation for assigned base personnel. To support the Air Force physical fitness program and maintain morale at a high standard, it is essential to provide a complete and diversified sports program. CURRENT SITUATION: Existing gymnasium can only accommodate a limited sports program. One basketball court; a small weight lifting room and one locker and shower room are all that is available. No other indoor sport facilities are available within the area. Frequent inclement weather emphasizes the need for an indoor sports program.

IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: Physical fitness and recreational sports programs will remain on a limited scale, adversely affecting the morale and exercise needs of assigned personnel.
