REQUIREMENT: As Required PROJECT: Alter/construct maintenance facilities in support of weapons system (Commando Falcon) beddown. REQUIREMENT: Properly sized and configured facilities are required to maintain and repair aircraft, components and equipment associated with Commando Falcon aircraft shceduled for beddown at Osan. CURRENT SITUATION: 5 PROJECT NUMBER 18316 Existing facilities are inadequate to accommodate Commando Falcon aircraft. New facilities are to be constructed only where there is no existing facility or where the existing facility cannot be economically added to or altered. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: Aircraft maintenance functions cannot be conducted for the new aircraft. Capability to accomplish the assigned mission will be seriously degraded. A. REQUIREMENT: 105,000 SF ADEQUATE: 0 SUBSTANDARD: 36,000 SF PROJECT: Construction of a new composite medical facility to replace existing substandard facilities. REQUIREMENT: A composite medical facility of sufficient size and efficient functional configuration is needed to meet the total health care needs of the military community served. A new facility is needed to permit optimum use of medical personnel and resources in providing medical operational support, general health care and flexibility to convert to emergency mass casualty capabilities. CURRENT SITUATION: The present medical facility consists of ten buildings interconnected by corridors. The existing buildings do not meet current life safety codes and environmental control standards for medical and dental facilities. Space for examinations and care of patients is inadequate. Inadequate waiting rooms force patients to sit in corridors while waiting for appointments, immunizations, x-rays, physical exams, and social disease clinic. Space within the substandard structure is used to the maximum extent possible and the resulting overcrowding conditions have a negative impact on quality health care. The present design and availability of utilities cannot support the type and quantity of modern medical equipment required in today's medical environment. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: Delivery of quality health care will continue to be impeded by design and space deficiencies. A. ESTIMATED ANNUAL COST TO OPERATE THE PROPOSED FACILITY.. B.
