REQUIREMENT : 66,800 SF ADEQUATE: 29,200 SF SUBSTANDARD: 20,600 SF PROJECT: Construct a consolidated Squadron Operations and Photographic Processing and Interpretation Facility. REQUIREMENT: Accommodate the change in the RF-4C beddown from one squadron with 42 RF-4's to two squadrons with 24 RF-4's each (total 48 RF-4'3). Operations space is required for command and control functions, flight planning, intelligence data gathering and interpretation, etc. Space is required for administration, supply storage, and maintenance of the Mobile Photographic Processing and Interpretation Trailers. CURRENT SITUATION: A facility is not available to accommodate the operations functions of the additional Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron (TRS). Space is being provided by temporarily utilizing four trailers and an existing building. The Photographic Processing and Interpretation activity is utilizing a deteriorated inadequate warehouse. In addition to the cracked structural members, the warehouse lacks insulation, adequate ventilation, and fire protection. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: The operations and training activities will continue in temporary structures that are too small and not configured for the squadron functions.
