STATUS OF FUND AVAILABILITY

The total appropriation program request for Air Force Military Construction for Fiscal Year 1983 is $2,081,800,000 plus $6,000,000 to fund reimbursable orders, for a total program of $2,087,800,000. The total unobligated balance for all years at the end of FY 1983 is estimated to be $907,125,000. This amount is comprised of unobligated balances of $301,613,000 from prior year programs, and $605,512,000 from FY 1983.

The funds requested under this program are required to provide financing for selection of sites, initial base master plans, advance project planning and project design for the Military Construction Program of the Air Force.

The $147,453,000 will provide the funds required to complete planning work associated with the FY 1983 Military Construction Program and to accomplish planning of subsequent years' programs to such a degree as will ensure the availability of reliable construction cost estimates when the projects contained therein are presented to the Congress for legislation.
