PROJECT: A centralized facility to provide complete facilities for the receiving, storage, dispensing, and quality control of grade JP-4 Jet engine fuel to support flying operations of the 145th TAGP. REQUIREMENT: An adequate fuel dispensing system is essential to support the flying mission of the 145th TAGP. CURRENT SITUATION: The existing POL system was constructed in the early 1940's and requires excessive maintenance. The operating storage tanks are located adjacent to the aircraft ramp and fire ball, which constitutes a safety hazard. Excessive maintenance is required to keep the system operational. Frequent shutdowns have occured which have directly affected the flying mission. Sixteen base fuels personnel are presently occupying an area in the end of a World War II mobilization type barracks building. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: Mission effectiveness of the 145 Tactical Airlift Group will be adversely affected by the condition and location of the existing POL System FORM DDD 1391 PREVIOUS EDITIONS MAY BE USED INTERNALLY UNTIL ERMAUSTED PAGE NO 4-82 |
