USAR DD FORM 1390 SUPPLEMENTAL DATA FY 1983 MILITARY CONSTRUCTION PROGRAM USARC, Dublin, GA INSTALLATION/LOCATION FORSCOM ESTIMATED COST OF BACKLOG OF REAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE (BMAR): 10 DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION, A specially designed training building of permanent masonry type construction with built-up roof and concrete and tile floors and a two-bay maintenance shop with attached unit storage, both of masonry construction. Air Conditioning: 25 tons. 11. REQUIREMENT: 20,327 SF ADEQUATE: 0 SUBSTANDARD: 13,500 SF PROJECT: Construction of 300-Member USARC with a 2-bay Organizational Maintenance Shop. REQUIREMENT: A new facility is requested to replace a totally inadequate and extremely overcrowded leased facility. This building will provide all the functional areas necessary to support the mission of the 988th Repair Parts Co consisting of 255 personnel and improve their combat readiness. CURRENT SITUATION: The 988th Supply Co presently occupies a leased facility having approximately 11,000 SF in one building and 2,500 SF in an adjoining building. A separate lease is also required to provide POV parking. This 60-Member rated facility with a utilization factor of 342% does not have a mess capability, nor a rifle range, and is not constructed to support the requirements of the Repair Parts Company. Both leases will be cancelled upon construction of the new center. In 1978, Laurens County permitted 5.61 acres for the construction of a new USARC. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: Unit assigned will remain in the inadequate, overcrowded and poorly maintained leased facility. These conditions will have an adverse effect on troop morale, will therefore affect the retention and recruiting program, and will not provide the conditions required to enhance mission performance.
