10. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION This is a specifically designed expansion to the Army Aviation Armory Facility to meet the functional mission of the assigned units. Construction will be steel frame, metal wall panels concrete floors, and built-up roof. Air Conditioning: 15 tons 11.

REQUIREMENT : 24,599 SF ADEQUATE: 14,288 SF SUBSTANDARD: 10311 $F PROJECT: An expansion 18 requested to the existing facility to serve the peacetime mission of the assigned units. The space will permit all personnel to perform the necessary tasks that will improve their readiness posture for support in combat objectives. REQUIREMENT: This expansion is required to adequately house the units assigned with an authorized strength of 318 personnel. It will provide the necessary administrative, indoor training area and storage of equipment space to achieve the proficiency in required training and to accomp11sh the assigned readiness objectives. The spaces being altered are strictly to support the needs of the armory. CURRENT SITUATION: The present facility was constructed as a two-unit armory in 1976. With the additional training requirements and preparation of food for personnel, the existing areas and total space are inadequate. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: Assigned units will be required to use the overcrowded facility with a deficiency of 9,527 square feet in supply and training areas. These conditions will continue to have an adverse effect on troop effectiveness, affecting its readines8, troop morale, and the retention and recruiting of personnel.
