10 DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION Consists of a maintenance facility with three work bays plus an administrative work area constructed of ma sonry, built-up roof and concrete floor. Partitions to consist of masonry block. Air Conditioning - None 11. REQUIREMENT: 3,929 SF ADEQUATE: 0 SF

SUBSTANDARD: 4,055 SF PROJECT: A new maintenance shop to provide organizational maintenance for the vehicles and equipment of the Combat Support Engineer Company supported by this OMS. REQUIREMENT: A facility requirement for 3,929 square feet is requested to permit maintenance at organizational level to be performed on vehicles authorized the supported unit. CURRENT SITUATION: The present shop is collocated with the existing Muskegon Armory; however, the OMS and armory are to be relocated to Montague, Michigan once the program is approved. The existing shop occupies 4,055 square feet in an area not orginally designed for such use. Military parking is nonexistent and the mechanical and electrical systems are in need of replacement due to age. The structure was built in 1941 with 100% State funds. Existing facility will be disposed of in accordance with State law after the new shop has been occupied. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: The quality of work will decrease due to deficient work and storage areas to perform administrative and maintenance duties.

10. DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION A special designed facility of permanent ma sonry type construction, brick and concrete units with built-up roof and concrete floor. One-story in height with lighting. Air Conditioning - None 11. REQUIREMENT: 35,211 SF ADEQUATE: 0 SF SUBSTANDARD: 0 SF PROJECT: A new motor vehicle storage building to provide a secure storage facility for the authorized equipment of the 1436 Combat Support Engineer Company of the 207 Engineer Battalion, 46th Engineer Group. REQUIREMENT: An unheated vehicle storage structure of 35,211 square feet is requested to permit indoor storage of the 108 wheeled and 4 tracked motor vehicles assigned to this unit. This project is required since the average yearly snowfall exceeds 90 inches. CURRENT SITUATION: The vehicles of this unit are presently stored in an open compound rented from the City of Muskegon, where the present armory is. The compound does not meet the space requirements of NGR 415-10 for a unit of this size. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: The unit's readiness posture will be hampered by their inability to secure their vehicles properly and valuable training time will be lost trying to start and maintain the vehicles during the vinter.
