0 SUBSTANDARD: 2,880 SF PROJECT: This new maintenance shop will provide an adequate facility to support the maintenance needs of the 3rd Battalion 156th Infantry (Mech). REQUIREMENT: This facility is required to provide the organizational level of maintenance to all units of this battalion.

CURRENT SITUATION: The existing building used as an Organizational Maintenance Shop is a Motor Vehicle Storage Building constructed in 1953 with 2,880 square feet. The building lacks adequate office and supply space as well as battery rooms and equipment custodial space. The existing space used as maintenance bays lacks air, water, and electrical outlets suff1cient to support maintenance.

IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: Failure to provide this facility would be detrimental in that the maintenance of equipment needed for training would continue to be performed in an inadequate method.
