PROJECT: This project will provide the heat, electrical, plumbing, automatic data processing environment, office and storage space to house a DLOG/Class IX system as authorized in National Guard Regulation 415-10. REQUIREMENT: The DLOG/Class IX facility is required to meet the logistical support mission of the Army National Guard. CURRENT SITUATION: The unit is presently housed in two buildings constructed in 1943 and remodeled in 1975. The buildings consist of 4,128 square feet and because of the locations and deterioration of the wooden structure, it would not be possible to expand the existing facilities. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: If the proposed DLOG/Class IX is not provided, the unit will suffer resulting in an inefficient operati on. REQUIREMENT: 27,781 SF ADEQUATE: 21,541 SF SUBSTANDARD: 395 SF PROJECT: An addition and expansion to existing armory to provide required facilities for the logistics unit. The expanded facility will provide space for personnel to perform the necessary tasks. REQUIREMENT: This addition is required to support the DLOG unit of the 39th Support Battalion which is authorized 74 personnel. The areas will provide the necessary administration, training area and storage of equipment space to achieve the proficiency in required training and to accomplish the assigned readiness objectives. Existing armory is located in the cantonment areas of Camp Robinson. CURRENT SITUATION: The unit is presently housed in a building constructed in 1943 and remodeled in 1975. The building consists of 11,300 SF and because of the location and deterioration of the wooden structure is would not be possible to expand the existing armory. The armory proposed for the addition/alterations was built in 1974 and consists of 21,716 SF. The building is located such that it can be expanded, it is in excellent repair, and would provide the most cost effective solution to the problem. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: Detachment 1, 39th Support Battalion will continue to use a badly deteriorated building.
