The following regulations regarding Camp John Hay, P. I., re published for the information and guidance of all conerned:

1. Authorizations and Applications.

Officers and enlisted men will not be ordered to Camp John Hay, Mountain Province, unless their physical condition, as certified by their post or attending surgeons, warrants their transfer to the Department Hospital, Manila, when they may be sent for medical treatment to Camp John Hay if the. Department Hospital authorities so recommend, and such recommendation be approved by the Department Commander.

Officers eligible for detached service, and whose services can be spared, may visit Camp John Hay, without expense to the United States on detached service for the convenience of the Government to familiarize themselves with military conditions and country there and in the vicinity, for a period not to exceed one month in any calender year, upon application approved by the Department Commander.

Applications to visit and for accommodations at Camp John Hay will be accompanied by the certificate of a medical officer that the persons for whom application is made are free from any contagious or infectious disease. They will be made in duplicate to the Department Commander in ample time to receive reply by mail, and will give names of persons for whom accommodations are desired, and the relationship of any persons included who are not actual members of applicant's family. Ages of minor children, and the status of servants (whether muchachos, cooks, nurses, maids, or grooms), also dates on which reservations are desired, and the length of stay contemplated will be definitely stated.

Young ladies and children unchaperoned or not accompanied by parents will not be provided accommodations at Camp John Hay.

2. Reservations.

Reservations will be made in the order in which approved applications are received. Reservations not taken advantage of within three days from date of same will be considered void and cancelled.

Applications for reservations will not be made more than one month prior to date of intended occupancy.

3. Advance Notification..

To insure proper arrangements for transportation of persons and baggage from railroad terminal and the preparation of accommodations at Camp John Hay prior to arrival. the commanding Officer of said camp must be notified by letter or telegram at least twenty-four hours beforehand of the date of arrival at railroad terminal and the number in the party for whom arrangements and preparations are desired.

Baggage.

To facilitate and insure correct handling and prompt delivery of baggage, each piece (including hand baggage carried by passengers) should be legibly marked, ON A TAG attached to handle, with name, rank and regiment or arm of service of owner, or in case of other than military passengers, the name of owner, followed by "Camp John Hay." Pieces not carried by passengers should be checked to railroad terminal, watched until put on train at Manila, and checks turned over to Quartermaster's agent on arrival at railroad terminal.

The handling of baggage carried by passengers must be carefully looked after in person. It is forbidden to carry, on the passenger auto, large grips, telescope baskets, suit cases, or any other pieces of hand baggage which cannot be carried in the hands or lap. They should be marked as prescribed above and turned over in person, on arrival at railroad terminal to the Quartermaster's agent to be loaded on baggage trucks. The Quartermaster's agent and chauffeur of the passenger auto bus are required to notify passengers of this regulation and report all who violate it.

Surplus hand baggage, trunks, and other heavy baggage, will be promptly forwarded to destination by government auto trucks, under the direction of the Quartermaster. This transportation leaves railroad terminal immediately after the passenger automobiles, and arrives in Camp John Hay about 7:00 p. m., when all baggage is immediately delivered at the quarters or tents of the owners.

Unidentified baggage not marked as directed above will be left at the Mess.

Hand baggage only, and not to exceed forty (40) pounds per passenger, is carried free of charge by the Auto Line. Excess will be charged, by Auto Line, for any amount over this allowance and is payable in advance by the passenger.
