SUPPLY CLERK VII

Performs a variety of routine, repetitive, clerical stock-control tasks in either a manual or automated stock record system, including:

--posts receipt, issue, and due-out notations on stock record cards or X-computer input forms;

--balances individual stock record cards and identifies reorder quantity by comparing balance with authorized stock level;

--reviews due-out notations, cancelling duplicates, and releasing requests for shipment as material becomes available;

--fills out standard supply or computer input forms such as requisitions, issue slips, inventory reports, receipt documents;

--initiates inventory adjustments when physical count differs from stock record; --corrects routine and obvious discrepancies between supply action forms and stock records, e.g., stock location designation.

Job Requirements and Difficulty of Work

Requires:

--knowledge of the prescribed procedures for performing the assigned tasks;

-- ability to understand and follow instructions;

--ability to make simple arithmetic computations.

The work consists of simple, repetitive, routinized tasks performed in accordance with established and prescribed procedures.

Responsibility

The work is carried out in accordance with standardized procedures and instructions that permit little or no deviation.

Work is occasionally spot-checked to assure compliance with instructions and is also subjected to verification during subsequent processing. Errors are usually easily detected and usually cause only minor loss of time in unit in which employed.

Personal relationships are with the supervisor and associates and are for the purpose of furnishing or obtaining factual information, or to obtain supervisory guidance.
