Today the subcommittee holds a hearing on four bills. While each differs from the others, each sounds a common theme: an attempt to provide for greater protections for our most precious national asset-our children. And each has another thing in common, each was offered and adopted overwhelmingly as an amendment to H.R. 1501, The Juvenile Justice Reform Act, which passed the House last June. H.R. 894, Aimee's Law, was introduced by Congress and Matt Salmon. To encourage States to incarcerate individuals convicted of murder, rape, or child molestation.
