me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit; for without me ye can do nothing.

6. If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

7. If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

8. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

9. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

10. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

11. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.

12. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

13. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

14. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. EVENING LESSON-Isa. 45: 15-25

PRAYER FOR THURSDAY AFTER WHITSUNDAY Our gracious Lord and Master, we do thank Thee for Thy blessed Word, that cheers and comforts in every trial, and fills us with new hope. May we treasure that word in our hearts. Give us a new love for it. Help us to make it the guide of our lives at all times. We know that through it we shall come to the Father, and by obeying it, we shall be brought into the kingdom.

We thank Thee for the assurance it gives us to pray. Our faith is often so weak, and we forget that Thou hast promised to hear us always. Thou hast left us unlimited in our petitions. May the Holy Spirit fill our hearts, that we may ask only the things it is Thy pleasure to give. We know it is Thy will that all men should be saved. We pray, therefore, for the saving of the world. Bring back all who have wandered from their heavenly home. May all who live in this Gospel land, hear Thy Word of invitation, and turn unto Thee. May the heathen soon be brought to know Thee, for our dear Redeemer's sake. Amen.

FRIDAY AFTER WHITSUNDAY

-MORNING LESSON-JOHN 15: 15-27

15. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

16. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

17. These things I command you, that ye love one another. 18. If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

19. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own; but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

20. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.

21. But all these things will they do unto you for my name's sake, because they know not him that sent me.

22. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin; but now they have no cloak for their sin.

23. He that hateth me hateth my Father also.

24. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

25. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

26. But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:

27. And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.

EVENING LESSON-Jer. 9:17-26

PRAYER FOR FRIDAY AFTER WHITSUNDAY Our God and our Father in Jesus Christ, blessed be Thy holy name, for the nearness of Thyself to us, and of us to Thee. Thou hast made us part of Thyself, Thy life flowing through us, and making us fruitful.

Help us to realize that our fruitbearing honors Thee. Oh, may there be such fruitage on our branches as will prove a blessing to Thee.

May Thy Holy Spirit dwell in us, that we may

abound in good works. Not only in us, dear Lord, but in all Thy children, all who profess Thy name, all our own loved ones. We pray for a blessing on all who are near and dear unto us. Make all our homes Christian homes, that the children may grow up to love and serve Thee.

Grant, O God, that many may go forth out of our Church to preach the unsearchable riches of Jesus Christ. May they realize the honor and the blessing of being ambassadors for Christ.

Hear us in our morning prayer and grant us Thy guidance and keeping this day, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

SATURDAY AFTER WHITSUNDAY

MORNING LESSON-JOHN 17:1-26

1. These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

2. As thou has given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

3. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

4. I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

5. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

6. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

7. Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

8. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

9. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.

10. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.

20. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21. That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou has sent me.

EVENING LESSON-ISA. 44: 6-28

PRAYER FOR SATURDAY AFTER WHITSUNDAY Holy Father, Thou hast taught us to pray, and not to faint, to be active in Thy service, and never weary in well doing. We do thank Thee that Thou hast called us into Thy blessed service, a service of joy and peace and contentment.

Make us diligent in business and fervent in spirit. May we never neglect any opportunity to do good. Help us to enter every open door, and do all we can to honor Thee.

We thank Thee for the blessings of the morning; for the sweet rest of the night; for renewed bodies and right minds.

We thank Thee that our lines have fallen in pleasant places, and that we have a goodly heritage. Make us worthy of this high privilege.

May we strive to make all other lands as good as our own. Help us send Thy Gospel to the darkened nations. Hasten the coming of Thy kingdom, dear Saviour, when the knowledge of the Lord shall cover the earth as the waters cover the sea. We ask it for His dear Name's sake. Amen.

TRINITY SUNDAY

MORNING LESSON-1 COR. 12:4-13

4. Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

6. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all.

7. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

8. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

9. To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

10. To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

II. But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

12. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.

13. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

EVENING LESSON-ISA. 6:1-7

PRAYER FOR TRINITY SUNDAY

Thou gracious and Triune God, in whom we live and move, and have our being. From everlasting to everlasting, Thou art God, the only God. We praise Thee for Thy marvelous revelation. We cannot understand the profound mystery of the Trinity, but we can understand, O God, Thy fatherhood. That Thou hast begotten us into Thy family, and made us Thy sons and daughters. We know that Jesus Christ came into the world to save us, and that by believing in Him we have everlasting life. So often we have been comforted and helped by Thy Holy Spirit, and we know He abides with Thy people.

Dear Lord, in this our hope is stayed, and we go on serving Thee, trusting Thee for what we cannot understand.

We pray for a blessing to-day, such as Thou seest we need. We thank Thee for this glorious revelation of Thyself, and the assurance of everlasting life. Help us live for Thee to-day and every day, and Thy Name shall have the praise for evermore. Our Father,

etc.

MONDAY AFTER TRINITY SUNDAY
MORNING LESSON-ACTS 3: 1-21

1. Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.

2. And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;

3. Who, seeing Peter and John about to go to into the temple, asked an alms.

4. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.

5. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.

6. Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
