RESIGNATION OF JUDGE EVAN HOWELL

OCTOBER 9, 1953.

The Chief Judge, in open court, announced with regret the resignation of Judge Evan Howell, effective Wednesday, September 30, 1953, stating that he had integrity, loyalty, ability, and an unusual personality; that these qualities had made the relations between Judge Howell and the other members of the bench most pleasant; and that in his new field of endeavor the court wished him many happy and useful years.

TRIBUTE TO JUDGE BENJAMIN H. LITTLETON

NOVEMBER 6, 1953.

The Chief Judge announced in open court that today marks the twenty-fourth year of service of Benjamin H. Littleton as a Judge of the United States Court of Claims, and stated that he has made a distinguished record, and has always exhibited a spirit of friendship and consideration, not only to the bench, but to the members of the bar, and that all his friends wish for him many more years of useful and happy life with the Court.

REVISED RULES OF THE COURT

ORDER

OCTOBER 1, 1953.

A revision of the rules proposed by a committee of commissioners appointed for the purpose having been considered and approved by the Court:

It is ordered this first day of October 1953, that the revised rules be and the same are hereby made effective on October 15, 1953.

It is further ordered that all other rules heretofore promulgated by the Court be and the same are hereby superseded by the revised rules upon the effective data of such revised rules.
