Page 429 AN ACT to authorize and empower the board of supervisors of Choctaw county, and the board of mayor and aldermen of the town of Ackerman, respectively, to assign to the First National Bank, of Ackerman, Mississippi, which has failed, one-third of the indebtedness of said bank to the said county and town, respectively, on the assignment by said bank to a trustee for the said county and town, and any other creditors of said bank doing likewise, assets of said bank, consisting of choses in action; to be selected by said bank, aggregating in amount a sum equal to the aggregate amount of the indebtedness of said bank so assigned by said boards, or either of them, and any other creditors of said bank, and to leave the balance of said indebtedness, respectively, on deposit in said bank at interest at the rate of 4% per annum, for a period of from six to twelve months; provided by so doing the said bank shall reopen its doors and resume a banking business.
