ed at Winona, Mississippi; provided that the authorities in control and operation of the said Winona hospital shall equip and operate in said hospital, a charity ward, containing not less than twenty beds to be used for charity patients only; and provided further that the money so appropriated out of the state treasury shall be drawn and expended only according to the direction of a board of trustees, consisting of three trustees, all of whom shall be appointed by the governor, and who shall serve without compensation. That they shall see that the said sum is used for charity purposes, under such rules and regulations that they may adopt. Provided that the county of Montgomery shall contribute the sum of $1,000.00 for each of the years 1922 and 1923.

How funds to be drawn from treasury.

Sec. 2. The funds hereby appropriated shall be drawn from the state treasury on warrants of the auditor of the state therefor, which shall be issued by him only upon the certificate of the board of trustees.

Itemized statement of disbursements required.

Sec. 3. The trustees shall prepare and submit a detailed statement of all disbursements made by them, to the governor, on or before the first day of January, 1924, which statement shall be transmitted to the legislature by the governor at the session thereof held in 1924.

Sec. 4. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

HOUSE BILL No. 84.

AN ACT making an appropriation for the support and maintenance of a charity ward in the Tupelo Hospital located in Tupelo, Mississippi. Tupelo Hospital-for support of charity ward in.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That there be and is hereby appropriated out of any money in the state treasury, not otherwise appropriated, the sum of four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) for the year 1922 and four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) for the year 1923, to be used for the support of a charity ward in the Tupelo Hospital, located at Tupelo, Mississippi; provided that the authorities in control and operation of the said Tupelo Hospital shall equip and operate in said hos

AN ACT making an appropriation for the support and maintenance of a charity ward in the Mayes Hospital in New Albany, Mississippi.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That there be and is hereby appropriated out of any money in the state treasury, not otherwise appropriated, the sum of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) for the year 1922, and two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) for the year 1923, to be used for the support of a charity ward in the Mayes Hospital located at New Albany, Mississippi, provided that the authorities in control and operation of the said Mayes Hospital shall operate as an adjunct to the said Mayes Hospital a charity ward containing not less than ten (10) beds. And provided further, that the money so appropriated

out of the state treasury shall be drawn and expended only according to the direction of a board of trustees consisting of three members, all of whom shall be appointed by the governor, and who shall serve without compensation. They shall see that the funds are used for charitable purposes under such rules and regulations as may be adopted, subject to the approval of the governor. Provided that the town of New Albany and the county of Union shall contribute one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) each year to this hospital.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That there be and is hereby appropriated out of any money in the state treasury, not otherwise appropriated, the sum of two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) for the year 1922, and two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) for the year 1923, to be used for the support of a charity ward in the Gilmore Sanitarium, located at Amory, Mississippi; provided, that the authorities in control of the operation of the said Gilmore Sanitarium shall equip and operate in said hospital a charity ward containing not less than ten beds to be used for charity patients only; and provided further that the money so appropriated out of the state treasury shall be drawn and expended only according to the direction of a board of trustees of

said fund, three in number, all of whom shall be appointed by the governor, and who shall serve without compensation. That said trustees so appointed by the governor shall see that the said sum is used for charity purposes only, and under such rules and regulations as they may adopt. Provided that the town of Amory and county of Monroe shall contribute one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) each year to this hospital.

CHAPTER 68

SENATE BILL No. 297.

AN ACT to to appropriate $4,000.00 in the next biennial period to support a charity ward in the hospital known as Martin's Sanitarium located in Pearl River county, town of Picayune, Mississippi.

Martin's Sanitarium, Picayune—for support of charity ward in.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the sum of four thousand dollars be and is hereby appropriated out of any money in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated for the purpose of maintaining a charity ward in the hospital known as Martin's Sanitarium in Picayune, Pearl River County, Mississippi, as follows:

$2,000.00 for the year 1922; and, $2,000.00 for the year 1923.

The town of Picayune and the county of Pearl River shall approprite jointly as they see fit, for each of said years, the sum of $1,000.00 for the charity ward of said hospital an dno part of this appropriation shall be used until it is shown by certified copy of the

orders of the council and board of supervisors that said town and county appropriations have been made and subject to expenditure for such charity ward.

Ward to contain not less than ten beds for charity only.

Sec. 2. That the authorities in control and operation of the said Martin Hospital shall operate as an adjunct to the said Martin's Hospital a charity ward containing not less than ten (10) beds.
