CHAPTER 655.

HOUSE BILL No. 751.

AN ACT to empower the board of supervisors of Union county, in their discretion, to pay H. D. King for certain road work.

Union county may pay H. D. King for road work.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Union county be and they are hereby empowered, in their discretion, to pay H. D. King a sum not exceeding seventy five dollars ($75.00) for certain road work.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 656.

HOUSE BILL No. 940.

AN ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Union county to borrow money for Ingomar consolidated school district.

Union county may borrow for Ingomar school district.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Union county be, and they are hereby authorized to borrow $3,000.00 for Ingomar consolidated school district for the purpose of adding to the buildings and equipment of said school district. The said loan to be discharged by means of tax levies to be made through a period not exceeding ten years. This loan is to be effected in the manner that the loan warrants are offered and sold by the county.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 657.

HOUSE BILL No. 590.

AN ACT empowering the board of supervisors of Union county, in their discretion to pay for coffin used in the burial of Mrs. Gilliam, a pauper. Union county may pay for coffin for pauper.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Union county, be and they are hereby authorized and empowered in their discretion, to

pay Potts Hamilton Hardware Company, of New Albany, Mississippi, for a coffin used in the burial of Mrs. Gilliam, a pauper. Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 658.

HOUSE BILL No. 976.

AN ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Warren county to pay to J. F. McEachern a sum not exceeding $200.00 for damages to automobile.

Warren county may pay J. F. McEachern for damage to automobile.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Warren county, Mississippi, be and they are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to pay to J. F. McEachern a sum not exceeding $200.00 on account of damages to his automobile caused by the negligence of a county road truck driver.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 659.

HOUSE BILL No. 593.

AN ACT to authorize and validate the issuance and sale of forty one thousand dollars six per cent interest bearing bonds of the county of Washington, state of Mississippi.

To validate sale of certain bonds of Washington county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Washington county, Mississippi, be and it is hereby authorized to issue and sell the $41,000.00 of six per cent Washington county road bonds second series for the purpose of raising funds to construct the hard roads of

Washington county, Mississippi, all of said bonds being $1,000.00 denomination and dated June 7th, 1920, and numbered and maturing as follows, to-wit:

Such bonds have already been authorized and are a part of the $1,250,000.00, second series road bonds of Washington county, but were not sold and delivered within the one year from the date of their issuance, as prescribed by the statutes of Mississippi. The said board of supervisors is authorized and empowered to sell said bonds at any time within six months from the date hereof, and such bonds when sold and delivered shall be a valid, legal and binding obligation of Washington county, Mississippi, and the issuance and sale of said bonds is hereby legalized and validated in every respect without regard to any defect, error, omission or irregularity in the issuance or sale of said bonds, and such bonds shall be a lien upon the property in Washington county, Mississippi, and the board of supervisors is directed to levy a tax upon the property in Washington county, Mississippi, to pay the interest and principal thereof.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

AN ACT to empower the board of supervisors of Webster county to transfer funds from loan warrant fund to common county fund. Webster county may transfer certain funds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Webster county be and is hereby empowered, in their discretion, to transfer the unappropriated balance in the loan warrant fund of said county, not exceeding two hundred twenty five ($225.00) dollars to the common county fund of said county.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 661.

HOUSE BILL No. 852.

AN ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Webster county to pay the J. H. Pepper Mill Company certain taxes erroneously paid into the county treasury.

Webster county may refund taxes to J. H. Pepper Mill Co.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mssissippi, That the board of supervisors of Webster county is hereby authorized to pay to the J. H. Pepper Mill Company the sum of twenty one dollars and twenty five cents for taxes erroneously paid into the county treasury caused by erroneous assessment by the county assessor.

HOUSE BILL No. 843.

AN ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Webster county to pay Eupora Gin Company of Webster county for taxes paid into county treasury by erroneous assessment.

Webster county may refund Eupora Gin Co. certain taxes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the board of supervisors of Webster county is hereby authorized to pay to the Eupora Gin Company the sum of $53.32, an amount paid by said gin company as taxes, caused by an erroneous assessment by county assessor of said county.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 663.

SENATE BILL No. 328.

AN ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Winston county to pay R. N. Steadman for work done on the good roads in district No. 5 of Winston county, Mississippi.

Winston county may pay R. N. Steadman for road work.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Misissippi, That the board of supervisors of Winston county, are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion to pay R. N. Steadman six hundred and fourteen dollars and eighty cents ($614.80) or so much thereof as they may see fit, out of the general road fund of district No. 5 of Winston county, Mississippi, for certain work done on the good roads in district No. 5 of Winston county, Mississippi, during the years 1918 and 1919 by the said R. N. Steadman.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 664.

HOUSE BILL No. 763.

AN ACT to validate bonds issued by Ellison Ridge consolidated school distrist, Winston county.

To validate bonds of Ellison Ridge school district, Winston county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the bonds in the sum of six thousand dollars issued by Ellison Ridge consolidated school district of Winston county, Mississippi, be, and they are hereby in all things made valid and legal, and are binding obligations on the said consolidated school district, regardless of any defects or informalities in their issuance.

Sec. 2. That this act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
