CHAPTER 48.

HOUSE BILL No. 546.

AN ACT making an appropriation for the support and maintenance of the Mississippi Industrial and Training School for the years of 1922 and 1923.

Industrial Training School-Support Fund.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the following sums, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same are hereby appropriated out of any sums not otherwise appropriated, for the support and maintenance of the Mississippi Industrial and Training School for the years of 1922 and 1923.

How funds to be expended.

Sec. 2. All money appropriated by this act shall be expended under the direction of the board of trustees on warrants drawn on the state treasury issued by the auditor with the approval of the governor. Provided, that the per capita for 1922 shall not exceed twenty five dollars ($25.00) per month and the per capita for 1923 shall not exceed twenty dollars ($20.00) per month.

Sec. 3. That this act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 49.

HOUSE BILL No. 278.

AN ACT to appropriate money for the maintenance and support of the Mississippi Colony for the Feeble Minded for the years 1922 and 1923. Colony for Feeble-Minded-support fund.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the sum of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) for the year 1922 and fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) for the year 1923 be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the support and maintenance including all necessary equipment and supplies, such as furniture, food, clothing, fuel, medicine, farming implements, seed, live stock, feed, fertilizer, materials, and equipment for

the shop, office, school laboratory, laundry, kitchen, dairy and other departments of the said school, and for he salaries of the superintendent and all other officers and employes of the Mississippi School and Colony for the Feeble Minded, and for all other necessary ex

penses.

How funds to be drawn from the treasury.

Sec. 2. The several sums of money herein before provided for shall be paid by the state treasury out of any money in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, as the necessities of said institution may require, upon written statements showing the necessity for drawing such amount, made by the superintendent or executive committee of said institution and approved by the governor. Salary of the superintendent.

Sec. 3. That the salary of the superintendent shall not exceed four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) per annum.

Itemized report of expenditures.

Sec. 4. That an itemized statement of all moneys expended under the provisions of this act shall be furnished to the leg slature within ten days after the convening of its regular sessions.

Sec. 5. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 50.

HOUSE BILL No. 293.

AN ACT to appropriate money for the support and maintenance of the State Charity Hospital at Jackson, Mississippi.

State Charity Hospital at Jackson-support fund.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the following sums of money or so much thereof as may be necessary be and the same are hereby appropriated out of any money in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the support and maintenance of the State Charity Hospital at Jackson, Mississippi. Provided that this hospital shall be used only for charity patients. Provided, further, that the superintendent shall devote his entire and undivided time to the duties of his office.

Sec. 2. That the said appropriation shall be drawn from the state treasury under the direction of the board of trustees of the State Charity Hospital of Jackson, Mississippi, and shall be expended under the direction of said board, with the approval of the governor, and shall be paid upon warrants drawn by the auditor of public accounts of the state of Mississippi as the funds may be needed.

Sec. 3. That this act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 51.

HOUSE BILL No. 973.

AN ACT to appropriate the sum of $10,682.58 to cover the deficiency in the support fund of the State Charity Hospital at Jackson for the years 1920 and 1921.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the sum of ten thousand six hundred eighty two dollars and fifty eight cents ($10,682.58) be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, to cover the deficiency in the support fund for the State Charity Hospital at Jackson for the years 1920 and 1921, said amount to be paid on itemized statement to the auditor showing the amounts due and to who same are due.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

HOUSE BILL No. 122-Legislative Session 1920.

AN ACT to appropriate money for the support and maintenance of the State Charity Hospital at Jackson, Mississippi.

For support of State Charity Hospital.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the sum of forty-five thousand dollars ($45,000.00) for the year 1920 and a like amount for 1921, be, and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the support and maintenance of the State Charity Hospital, at Jackson, Mississippi provided, that this hospital shall be used only for charity patients. Provided further that the superintendent shall devote his entire time to the duties of his office.

How funds to be withdrawn and expended.

Sec. 2. That the said appropriation shall be drawn from the state treasury of the state of Mississippi under the direction of the board of trustees of the State Charity Hospital of Jackson, Mississippi, and shall be expended under the direction of said board, with the approval of the governor, for the purposes indicated, and shall be paid upon warrants drawn by the auditor of public accounts of the state of Mississippi, as the funds may be needed.

Sec. 3. That this act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

Memo.

This act was approved in part by the governor on the 3d day of April, 1920, and filed in the office of the secretary of state and was printed as part of the acts of the legislature.

The act was withdrawn from the files of the secretary of state, by the governor on the morning of January 6, 1922, and was returned to the secretary of state on the evening of January 6, 1922, to become a law under the operation of Section 72 of the state constitution.

CHAPTER 53.

SENATE BILL NO. 182

AN ACT making an appropriation for the support and maintenance of the Natchez Hospital, Natchez, Mississippi, for the years 1922 and 1923. Natchez Hospital-support fund.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the following sums of money be and the same are hereby appropriated out of any funds in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated for the support and maintenance of the Natchez Hospital, Natchez, Mississippi, for the year 1922, $40,

000.00, and for the year 1923, $40,000.00; for linen, bedding and laboratory supplies, $2,000.00, provided that the mayor and board of aldermen of the city of Natchez and the board of supervisors of Adams county, shall provide for each of the years 1922 and 1923 the sum of $5,600.00 to be used for the support and maintenance of said hospital.

How funds to be expended and hospital conducted.

Sec. 2. That the money hereby appropriated shall be expended and the affairs of the hospital shall be conducted and managed in accordance with the provisions of chapter 15, laws of 1900, being an act entitled: "An act to provide for the support and maintenance of the Natchez Hospital," except that the trustees, instead of including in their printed reports to the legislature the names of the parties received and treated in said hospital, with their ages and nativity, may produce before the proper committees of the legislature the books of the hospital, or copies thereof, showing the names, ages and nativity of the patients treated; that the superintendent shall render a full and complete itemized account to the legislature within ten days after it meets, of all money expended under this act.

Sec. 3. That this ac shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

HOUSE BILL No. 280.

AN ACT making an appropriation for the support, maintenance for the Mississippi State Charity Hospital at Vicksburg, Mississippi.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the following sums of money be and the same are hereby appropriated out of any money in the state treasury, not otherwise appropriated, for the support and maintenance of the Mississippi State Charity Hospital, at Vicksburg, Mississippi, for the years 1922 and 1923.
