This morning we will first consider the operations and fund requirements of our mission to the United Nations. For this item the House bill provides $800,000, which is the same as allowed this year, but is a reduction of $20,000 below the budget estimate. I understand the Department is asking for restoration of this cut. Our contribution to the U. N. total budget is $13,407,290, a decrease of $1,759,750 below this year's assessment. Percentagewise, the assessment for 1955 is 33.33 as compared to 35.12 for 1954 or a decrease of 1.79 percent. The summary and justification for these items will be filed in the record.
