AS COMPARED WITH THE $187.5 MILLION THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT CONSTRUCTIVELY SPENDS FOR THE LAND & WATER CONSERVATION PROGRAMS OF THE BUREAU OF OUTDOOR RECREATION?

An estimated $187.5 million will be spent in fiscal 1970

by the Bureau of Outdoor Recreation's land and water conservation programs (Department of the Interior) to provide assistance and

funds to states and federal programs in costs of preparing recreation plans, acquiring land and water areas, and in developing areas for public outdoor recreation purposes (30), compared with $101 million to be spent by the National Institute of Neurological Diseases and Stroke for research in these disease areas.
