SENATE BILL No. 158.

AN ACT to appropriate the sum of $110,224.08 to pay certain obligations of the state of Mississippi incurred by the governor authorized by the legislature.

To pay obligations incurred by the governor.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the sum of $110,224.08 or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated to pay certain obligations of the state incurred by the governor by authority of the legislature, to-wit:

CHAPTER 80.

SENATE BILL No. 202.

AN ACT to appropriate money to pay certain obligations of the state of Mississippi, authorized by house bill No. 39, chapter 23 of the laws of Mississippi of 1917.

To pay money borrowed under chapter 23, laws of 1917.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the sum of $823,466.58 or so much thereof as may be necessary, be, and the same is hereby appropriated out of any

money in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, to pay the principal and interest on note or notes of the state of Mississippi given January 5, 1918 and due July 1, 1918, with interest at six per cent per annum; said indebtedness being authorized by House Bill No. 39, chapter 23 of the laws of 1917.

Sec. 2. The payment of said note or notes shall be mad by the state treasurer upon surrender of the note or notes on or after the first day of July, 1918, and the state treasurer shall make requisition upon the auditor of public accounts for his warrants as payment of the note or notes shall have been made; and the auditor of public accounts is hereby authorized and directed to issue his warrant covering the amount of the note or notes so paid. Sec. 3. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 81.

HOUSE BILL No. 712.

AN ACT to appropriate the sum of two thousand and five hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary to defray the expenses of publication of the constitutional amendments, as provided by law. For expense of publishing constitutional amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the sum of two thousand and five hundred dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, for the purpose of paying for the publication of the constitutional amendments, as provided by law, to pay out on warrant of the auditor of public accounts issued on vouchers approved by the secretary of state.

Sec. 2. That this act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

CHAPTER 82.

SENATE BILL No. 471.

AN ACT to appropriate $270,000.00 to pay interest on the bonded indebtedness of the state authorized by house bill No. 349 of the legislature of 1918, to the amount of $3,000,000.00 for the first eighteen months after the issuance of said bonds.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the sum of two hundred and seventy thousand dollars ($270,000.00) be, and the same is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated to pay the interest on the issuance of $3,000,000.00 of the state bonds authorized by house bill No. 349 of the legislature of 1918, for a period of eighteen months next succeeding the date of their is

suance.

Sec. 2. That this act take effect and be in force from and after its passage.

AN ACT to appropriate $960.00 to pay the deficit in the appropriation, by chapter 1, laws of 1916, to pay spécial judges and chancellors, for their services, during the years 1916 and 1917.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the sum of $960.00 be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any funds in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, to pay special judges and chancellors, named below, the amounts set opposite their names, for services rendered during the years 1916 and 1917.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Mississippi, That the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated for the purpose of paying W. M. Lofton for services rendered as special chancellor.
