THE WHOLE OF THE SUPPLEMENTARY MATTER IN THESE 'BIBLES IS COPYRIGHT.

The Times of DECEMBER 9, 1878, says :

'They well deserve their second title of "The Bible Student's Helpers." They include, besides the sacred texts and copious references, notes on the Old and New Testaments, a summary of the history intervening between the two Testaments, essays on the chronology, geography, ethnology, &c.; a harmony of the Gospels, tables of time, weights, and measures, brief summaries of the chief prophecies and miracles, indexes of contents and of proper names, a selection of maps, twelve in number, and a concordance to the Sacred Scriptures, all brought within the compass of a single volume.'

The Standard of DECEMBER 20, 1878, says :

'Every other kind of information, geological, musical, or etymological, is freely given. to this that the bindings are superbly good, and what more can the teacher want?"

The Daily Telegraph of DECEMBER 25, 1878, says :

Add

A new facsimile series of Bibles corresponding page for page throughout has just been pablished, in six different sizes, by Mr. Henry Frowde, of the Oxford University Press Warehouse, Paternoster-row. The first on the list is a superb small quarto edition, printed on Specially prepared paper, with wide margins for manuscript notes. It contains a vast amount of Biblical information, carefully prepared by eminent Oxford scholars and professors. In addition to the authorised text and Dr. Blayney's references will be found a valuable and exhaustive series of analytical notes and summaries of the several books; historical, chronological, and geographical tables; lists of animals, birds, reptiles, plants, &c., found in Scripture; tables of weights, measures, time, and money; a list of words obsolete or ambiguous; a new index to the Bible, the new Oxford Concordance, a dictionary of Scripture proper names, with references to the passages where they occur, and a series of coloured maps. The student and the teacher will and each of these uniformly copious and excellent Bibles an invaluable aid in Scriptural research.'

The Globe of DECEMBER 23, 1878, says:

They are beautifully 'printed, very portable, and the best and the most comprehensive Bables for Teachers that have yet appeared. Every want of the Student or Teacher is provided for.'

The Academy of DECEMBER 14, 1878, says :

Certainly both teacher and learner alike are to be congratulated on this important addition to eir resources for the intelligent study of the Scriptures, which brings within the reach of very one the results of recent research in many departments of science. Of the typographical execution of this sumptuous edition it would be difficult to speak too highly.'

The Examiner of DECEMBER 21, 1878, says :

:

They are perfect examples of what a teacher's book should be. The various editions are inted on thin but opaque paper, and contain, in addition to the authorised text, exhaustive cholia on every subject connected with Biblical literature. The geology, the flora and fauna, he music and musical instruments of the sacred volumes are tabulated, and in so complete a manner that the student has at hand a complete encyclopædia of information.'

The Sunday School Chronicle of DECEMBER 13, 1878, says:

They are beautifully executed, the workmanship is perfect, the supplementary matter is fully dapted to the precise needs of teachers, and it has been carefully revised and enlarged. We not conceive the teacher, superintendent or pastor who would not count one of these Bibles as the best of all his Christmas gifts.'

Prospectus, giving specimens of types and list of contents, will be sent post free on application.
