Be it further Resolved, That we commend especially the energetic manner in which the manager of the Mississippi State Board of Development, Mr. L. J. Folse, has so insistently and consistently appealed to better and more active co-operation upon the part of the people in the cities and towns and the business. men in general in the betterment of conditions upon the farms, and for his activities in presenting the truth about Mississippi and its people to the people of the nation.

CHAPTER 371

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION No. 40.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION fixing definitely the date on which this legislature will adjourn sine die.

Fixing day for final adjournment.

Be it Resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring therein, That this legislature will, with the approval of the governor, adjourn sine die on Friday, March 19, 1926, Adopted by the House, March 3, 1926. Adopted by the Senate, March 10, 1926.

CHAPTER 372

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION No. 42.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION requesting the attorney general to take action to recover any money reported by the Legislative Investigating Committee as having been illegally paid to the former heads of institutions other than the head of the State Teachers college, and to return to the head of the State Teachers college money paid by him if in the opinion of the attorney general the same was legal.

Requesting the attorney general to recover money illegally paid to the former heads of institutions.

Be it Resolved by the House of Representatives, and the Senate of Mississippi, That the attorney general be requested to take action to recover any monies reported by the Legislative Investigating Committee as having been illegally paid to heads or former heads of institutions, other than the head of the State Teachers College, or amounts paid them in excess of their lawful salaries.

Be it further Resolved, That, if, after complete investigation. by the attorney general, which investigation shall be made within. ninety days from date the attorney general is of the opinion that the monies paid to heads or former heads of institutions was legal or he takes no action, the trustees of the State Teachers College are hereby directed to pay to the president of the State

Teachers College, Joe Cook, on the written opinion of the attorney general that said payment to said Joe Cook was legal, out of the funds collected from the Federal government the excess salary returned by the president of the State Teachers College, Joe Cook, to the treasury of the State Teachers College.

Be it further Resolved, That the clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of this resolution to the attorney general and to the secretary of the Board of Trustees of the State Teachers College.

CHAPTER 373

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 44.

Providing additional compensation for postmistress and mail boy. WHEREAS, The post mistress and mail boy of the House and Senate because of their response to duty rendered valuable service; and,

WHEREAS, The compensation received by each one has not been adequate to defray their expenses while in Jackson and reasonably compensate them for their services;

Therefore, Be it Resolved by the House and Senate concurring, That the clerk of the House and the secretary of the Senate be directed to pay each one in addition to their regular salary one dollar and fifty cents per day for each day's services, said sum to be paid by the House and Senate in the same proportion as they are now paid.

CHAPTER 374

HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION No. 45.

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION endorsing the Louisiana International Permanent Trade Exhibition at New Orleans, Louisiana, and encouraging the counties and municipalities of the state of Mississippi to participate therein.

Endorsing the Louisiana International Permanent Trade Exhibition.

WHEREAS, The International Trade Exhibition, a non-politic, domestic corporation formed for the purpose of fostering better trade relations between the people of the United States and foreign nations, has made preparations for the holding of a per

manent International Exhibition of fabricated and raw products of the United States, and similar products of foreign countries; and,

WHEREAS, The War Department, under the authorization of Congress has leased to the International Trade Exhibition the New Orleans Quartermaster Intermediate Depot No. 2 for the purpose of exhibiting such products; and,

WHEREAS, It is the desire and purpose to obtain the participation of the states of the union and foreign countries in such exhibition, thus encouraging and facilitating the growth of commerce in such products; and,

WHEREAS, It is the sense of this legislature that such a permanent International Trade Exhibition should be encouraged, and officially recognized; and,

WHEREAS, C. B. Perkins of Brookhaven, Lincoln county, Mississippi, has been placed in charge of the work of gathering the agricultural and other exhibits of the state of Mississippi, to be placed on exhibition at said station in New Orleans; and,

WHEREAS, The Development Board, working in conjunction with Mr. Perkins, has secured private donations to defray expenses of gathering said exhibits and placing same on exhibition at the International Trade Exhibition at New Orleans, Louisiana; and,

WHEREAS, Such exhibition of the raw products of Mississippi, will greatly advertise the resources of Mississippi, thereby benefiting the citizens of Mississippi in many and diverse ways;

Therefore, Be it Resolved, by this legislature, That we do give official recognition to the International Trade Exhibition, and endorse the work of Honorable C. B. Perkins, and the Development Board, in collecting and placing the agricultural and other exhibits of the state of Mississippi on exhibition at the International Trade Exhibition at New Orleans.

Be it further Resolved, That the counties and municipalities should be encouraged to aid and help in placing said exhibits on exhibition in New Orleans.
