Choice of Delegates.

The Delegates to the several Ecclesiastical Bodies in connection with the General Association of Connecticut, to be holden in June, 1827, are to be nominated by the several Associations as follows:

To the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church for May, 1828, Middlesex, New-Haven West, and New-Haven East Associations.

To the General Association of Massachusetts, for June, 1828, New-London and Fairfield West Associations.

To the General Association of New-Hampshire, for September, 1827, Fairfield East and Windham Asssociations.

To the General Convention of Vermont, for September, 1827, Litchfield North and Litchfield South Associations.

To the Evangelical Consociation of Rhode Island, for June, 1828, Middlesex and Tolland Associations.

At a Meeting of the General Association of Connecticut, at Stratford, on the third Tuesday of June, A. D. 1827. Present,

The Members were called to order by the Rev. Joshua Leavitt. The Rev. Samuel Merwin was chosen Scribe.

The Rev. Daniel Dow was chosen Moderator.

The Rev. Caleb J. Tenney was chosen Assistant Scribe.

The certificates of the election of Members were read.

The session was opened with prayer by the Moderator.
The rules of the Association were read.

Rev. Messrs. Lewis, Perry, Waldo, Green and Chester were appointed a Committee of Overtures.

The Report of the Trustees, and the Report of the Treasurer of the Missionary Society of Connecticut, were read and accepted. See Appendix No. I.

The Report of the Treasurer of the General Association was read and accepted. See Appendix No. II.

The Report of the Committee of Overtures was read and accepted.

Adjourned to two o'clock.

Met according to adjournment.

The Hon. Jonathan Brace, John Caldwell, Esq. Enoch Perkins, Esq. Samuel Pitkin, Esq. Thomas Hubbard, Esq. Daniel Wadsworth, Esq. and the Rev. Messrs. Nathan Perkins, D. D. Calvin Chapin, D. D. Samuel Goodrich, Henry A. Rowland, Noah Porter and Joel Hawes were elected Trustees. Andrew Kingsbury, Esq. was appointed Treasurer, and the Rev. Horace Hooker, Auditor, of the Missionary Society of Connecticut.

The Rev. Messrs. Waldo, Strong and Bartlett were appointed a Committee to report, whether it be expedient to make provision that there be Life-Trustees of the Missionary Society of Connecticut, and Life Directors of the Domestic Missionary Society.

The Rev. Messrs. King, Perry, N. Smith, Chester, Green, J. Vaill and Hunter were appointed a Committee to prepare a Report on the state of religion. [For report of this Committee Sce Appendix No. III.]

Attended divine service. The Associational sermon was preached by the Rev. N. Smith, from John vi. 44.

The Committee appointed by the General Association, in June, 1826, "to prepare and present a summary of christian doctrine to this body at their session in June, 1827," submitted a Report, which was read and accepted.

The Reports on the state of religion, from the District Associations, and other ecclesiastical bodies in connection with this body, were read and committed.

The Rev. Messrs. Bartlett, Andrus and H. Smith were appointed a Committee to prepare a list of Ministers and Candidates. See Appendix No. VII.

Adjourned to seven o'clock to-morrow morning.

June 20. Met according to adjournment.

The Reports of the Delegates to foreign bodies in connection with this body, were received.

Voted, That the Reports from Delegates to Foreign Bodies be printed, with the minutes of this Association. See Appendix No. IV.
