We have Mr. Gilles, Asssistant Secretary of Marketing and Inspection Services and his associates. Dr. Glosser, we are mighty glad to have you here. We welcome you to this, your first appearance, I believe, before the committee. Therefore we'll include your biographical sketch and those of your associates in the record at this point. [The biographical sketches follow:] BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF JAMES W. GLOSSER Dr. James W. Glosser is serving as Acting Administrator for the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS). He has been the Associate Administrator since March 31, 1985. He was born in Helena, Montana, on August 2, 1931. Dr. Glosser earned a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University in 1963, and a master's degree in Public Health at the University of Minnesota in 1971. His graduate studies included epidemiology and veterinary microbiology from 1971 to 1976. Upon earning his doctorate degree, Dr. Glosser worked in private practice of veterinary medicine in Miles City, Montana. From 1966 to 1973, he served as a Veteri (1) |
