live, hath given power, and commandment, to his Ministers, to declare and pronounce to his people, being penitent, the Absolution and Remission of their sins. He pardoneth and absolveth all those who truly repent, and unfeignedly believe his holy Gospel. Wherefore let us beseech him to grant us true repentance, and his Holy Spirit, that those things may please him which we do at this present; and that the rest of our life hereafter may be pure and holy; so that at the last we may come to his eternal joy; through Jesus Christ our Lord. O Lord, open thou our lips.

Answer. And our mouth shall show forth thy praise.

THere, all standing up, the Minister shall say,

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost;

er allmächtige Gott, unser himmlischer Vater, welcher nach seiner großen Barmherzigkeit Vergebung der Sünden allen denen verheißen hat, die mit herzlicher Buße und wahrem Glauben sich zu ihm befehren; erbarme sich über euch; begnadige und erlöse cuch von allen euren Sünden; stärke und befestige euch in allem Guten; und bringe euch zum ewigen Leben; durch Jesum Christum unsern Herrn. ater unser, der Du bist im Himmel: Geheiliget werde Dein Name. Dein Reich komme. Dein Wille geschehe, wie im Himmel, also auch auf Erden. Unser täglich Brod gieb uns heute; und vergieb uns unsere Schulden, wie wir vergeben unsern Schuldigern; Und führe uns nicht in Versuchung, Sondern erlöse uns von dem Uebel. Denn Dein ist das Reich, und die Kraft, und die Herrlichkeit, in Ewigkeit. A men.

¶ Dann soll er gleicherweise sprechen:

LORY be to God on high, and on earth peace, good will towards men.

We praise thee, we bless thee, we worship thee, we glorify thee, we give thanks to thee for thy great glory, O Lord God, heavenly King, God the Father Almighty.

O Lord, the only-begotten Son Jesus Christ; O Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, that takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us. Thou that takest away the sins of the world, have mercy upon us. Thou that takest away the sins of the world, receive our prayer. Thou that sittest at the right hand of God the Father, have mercy upon us.

For thou only art holy; thou only art the Lord; thou only, O Christ, with the Holy Ghost, art most high in the glory of God the Father. AMEN.

¶ Then shall be read the first Lesson, according to the Table or Calendar. ¶ After which shall be sung or said the Hymn called Magnificat, as followeth.

SING unto the Lord a new song;

For he hath done marvellous things.

With his own right hand, and with his holy arm,
Hath he gotten himself the victory.

The Lord declared his salvation;

His righteousness hath he openly showed in the sight of the heathen.

He hath remembered his mercy and truth toward the house of Israel;

And all the ends of the world have seen

The salvation of our God.

Show yourselves joyful unto the Lord, all ye lands;

Sing, rejoice, and give thanks.

Praise the Lord upon the harp;

Sing to the harp with a psalm of thanksgiving. With trumpets also and shawms,

O show yourselves joyful before the Lord the King.
