that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Pr. 4:13 Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her: for she is thy life. 20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Jer. 23:28 The prophet that hath a dream, let him tell a dream; and he that hath my word, let him speak my word faithfully. What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the LORD. 29 Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD; and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

Mat. 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God.

Jn. 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: And they are they which testify of me.

Ac. 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things

were so.

Rom. 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime, were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.

Ep. 6:17 Take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

1 Th. 5:27 I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren.

2 Tim. 3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Heb. 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

1 Pet. 2:2 As new-born babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby.

the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand. [Ps. 19, and 119, entire.]

41. Bible a written revelation.

Dt. 9:10 And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words which the LORD spake with you in the mount, out of the midst of the fire, in the day of the assembly.

Ps. 102:18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.

42. Sin and danger of perverting the Bible.

Pr. 30: 6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.

Mat. 15:3 But he answered and said unto them, Why do ye also transgress the commandment of God by your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, Honor thy father and mother: and, He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death. 5 But ye say, Whosoever shall say to his father or his mother, It is a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; 6 And honor not his father or his mother, he shall be free. Thus have ye made the commandment of God of none effect by your tradition.

Mk. 7:7 Howbeit, in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For, laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Col. 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philos ophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

2 Pet. 3:15 And account that the long-suffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also, according to the wisdom given unto him, hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Duty and Advantages of-Disposition of Children.

Rev. 22:18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

17:22 A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Jn. 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world.

CHILDREN.

44. Ignorance, docility, and confiding disposition of very little children.

Is. 7:15 Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good. 16 For before the child shall know to refuse the evil, and choose the good, the land that thou abhorrest shall be forsaken of both her kings. Mat. 18:3 Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Mk. 10:14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God 15 Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

6:20 My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: 21 Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. 22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

Mat. 27:19 When he was set down on the judgment-seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a
