203. God made and governs all things for himself.

Ps. 106: 7 Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea. 8 Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known.

Pr. 16:4 The Lord hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.

Is. 43:7 Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him ; yea, I have made him.

Ezk. 20:9 I wrought for my name's sake, that it should not be polluted before the heathen.

GOD'S NATURAL ATTRIBUTES. 204. Eternity. Dt. 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge.

Ps. 90: 2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

93:2 Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting

102:27 Thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.

205. Incomprehensible greatness and majesty.

1 Ch. 29: 11 Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine ; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. 12 Both riches and honor come of thee, and thou reignest over all ; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.

Neh. 9:6 ou, even thou, art Lord alone; thou hast niade heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth, and all things that are therein, the seas, and all that is therein, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.

Job 11: 7 Canst thou by searching find out God ? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection ? 8 It is as high as heaven ; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know? 9 The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.

145:3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

Is. 40:17 All nations before him are as nothing, and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity. 18 To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him ? Dan. 4:35.

206. Invisibility.

Jn. 1:18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him, must worhip him in spirit and in truth.

Col. 1: 14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: 15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the first-born of every creature.

1 Tim. 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the sght which no man can approach unto: whom no man hath seen, nor can see; to whom be honor and power everlasting.

Heb. 11:27 By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

207. Immutability.

Num. 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it ? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good ?

1 S. 15:29 And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.

Job 23: 13 He is in one mind, and who can turn him ; and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.

208. Omnipotence.

Gen. 17:1 I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.

Job 9:12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him ? who will say unto him, What doest thou ?

Is. 43:13 Yea, before the day was, I am he, and there is none that can deliver out of mine hand: I will work, and who shall let it?

Jer. 32:17 Ah Lord God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee.
