E commence a new series of The Christian Week on the extension of the kingdom of our Blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We do not confine this leading part of our programme to public events. The kingdom of God cometh not with observation. The seed of the kingdom is as the mustard seed. The conversion of one soul is an event which causes joy in heaven. We have often desired that a greater part of our journal should be devoted to accounts of the way in which the Holy Spirit leads individuals to Christ. There are many such narratives, no doubt, in published biographies; but it is important to let the world know that this glorious work of Divine grace never ceases. is so fitted to awaken the consciences of the careless, and to cheer the hearts of God's children, as the fact brought home to them, that in the place and at the time in which their lot is cast, there are those who are being turned from darkness to light, from being heirs of wrath to be heirs of glory. No communications will be more acceptable for the pages of The Christian Week than sober and authentic accounts of such cases; and we invite confidential correspondence of this description, as well as We give the first place to this part of our plan, believing that the simple proclamation of the terms and the success We have no great partiality for stories, being of opinion that there are too many of them in religious periodicals, and often of a kind which do more harm by their sensa- tionalism than good by the modicum of truth they con- tain.
