A minimum of four men and a leader are employed. On grain ceiling, cattle fitting and similar work, six or more men are employed including a foreman.

When repairing grain fittings in holds twenty feet deep or over, including the number one hold in Liberty type vessels, men are paid an additional 15¢ per hour straight time and 22 per hour overtime. This differential also applies to men operating power saws.

Travel time to and from vessel in the stream shall be paid for at $2.50

per hour straight time and $3.75 per hour during overtime.

Freight Handlers Agreement.- The agreement covering freight handlers also includes the following classifications of labor; foremen, receiving and delivery clerks generally known as checkers, ship cargo space cleaners, and ship bilge cleaners. The contract is signed by the Steamship Trade Association of Baltimore, Incorporated, representing the employers and the I.L.A. Local 1429, representing the employees.

The following schedule of wages became effective on March 7, 1955.
