PREFACE

This volume is intended to be supplementary to the volumes of the Cycle of Bible Study for College Students published by The Students' Department of the International Committee of Young Men's Christian Associations. It partakes somewhat of their character, in that it presents a scheme of Bible readings which covers the main trend of Scripture teaching. But its supreme purpose is to combine with this study of the Word the emphasis which is everywhere found on its pages, upon the duty and opportunity to live to help men to know God and to win them to Jesus Christ. Personal work for individuals is the dominant thought which runs through the entire volume. While this thought is not protruded on every page, it is involved in almost every day's reading and meditation. Together with this primary thought are found many teachings which treat of those subjects which are likely to engage the mind of one who is striving to win men, and many questions concerning which it is important to be furnished in dealing with various kinds of inquirers. Along some one of these lines the material will be found to apply. It is earnestly hoped that no one can prayerfully make daily use of this little volume without realizing anew the constraint of the love of Christ which
