LETTER OF TRANSMITTAL

U.S. SENATE,

COMMITTEE ON LABOR AND PUBLIC WELFARE,
Washington, D.C., July 16, 1969.

Hon. RALPH W. YARBOROUGH,

Chairman, Committee on Labor and Public Welfare,
U.S. Senate, Washington, D.C.

DEAR MR. CHAIRMAN: I transmit the attached materials concerning Federal student assistance programs for a committee print. These materials contain an institution-by-institution statement of approved requests for funds under the Education Opportunity Grant Program, the College Work-Study Program, and the National Defense Student Loan Program, together with the amounts to be received as a result of appropriations acts, and budget requests for fiscal years 1969 and 1970.

I believe that this document will be of great interest to the Senate and to the public at large and that it will serve the Congress with advice with respect to the funds which should be appropriated for student assistance in the 1970 appropriations for student assistance

programs.

Warm regards.
Ever sincerely,

CLAIBORNE PELL,

Chairman, Subcommittee on Education.
