flaked. OT

Crystallized potassium sulfide, crystallized sodium sulfide, or sodium sulfide fused solid in a metal container is not subject to these regulations. Sodium sulfide containing 35% or more com. bined water by weight, fused or concentrated but not ground (may be chipped, flaked or broken) when packed in steel barrels drums that are equipped with moisturetight closures, or in strong, tight fiber drums having a moisture barrier incorporated in the walls and equipped with mois ture-tight closure is not subject to the regula tions in this subchapter.

or

Pyroxylin plastics, rods, rolls, sheets or tubes. Film support (nitrocellu lose base). NOTE: Manufactured pyroxylin plastic articles, not otherwise named herein, when containing more than 10% by weight of nitrocellulose shall be shipped described as "Pyroxylin plastics."

Characteristics and hazards as for "Potassium sulfide (fused or concentrated and ground)". see above.

Yellow..

Solid solutions composed mainly Yellow. of nitrocellulose, camphor and small amounts of volatile solvents.

Highly inflammable. Decomposition may start and ignition occur at relatively low temperatures.

If inhaled, the products of decomposition are irritating and poisonous even in low concentrations.

Provide cool stowage as in a compartment having a temperature of not exceeding 100° F. and well away from any source of heat, or in position to protect or move, even to jettisoning in event of fire.

Do not stow in same compartment with explosives, inflammable liquids (red label), other inflammable solids or oxidizing materials (yellow label), or corrosive liquids (white label).

Rubber scrap, ground, powdered or granulated.

Rubber buffings. NOTE: Rubber scrap, not ground or ground with cord or fabric insertion, or ground without cord or fabric insertion, the particles of which pass over a screen of not less than 8-mesh is not subject to the regulations in this part. Reclaimed rubber or regenerated rubber. NOTE: Reclaimed rubber or regenerated rubber when in the form of dense homogeneous nonporous sheets or rolls, the sheets of thickness of 18 inch or greater, packed flat or in rolls, or in pelletized form if not less than 4 inch in diameter, or ground, the particles of which pass over screen of not less than 5-mesh, all properly cooled before shipment, is not subject to the regulations in this part.

a

Rubber scrap if ground, powdered, or granulated, and the rubber content of which exceeds 45%, as determined by subtracting the sum of the percentage of ash and the percentage of acetone extract from 100. Buffings from any grade of rubber irrespective of percentage of rubber content.

Rubber shoddy, regenerated rubber or reclaimed rubber consists of old rubber which has been subjected to chemical treatment of some kind in preparing if for further use in the rubber industry. Certain grades of rubber scrap if

ground, powdered or granulated, or the buffings from rubber, as well as rubber shoddy, regenerated or reclaimed rubber are subject to the risk of spontaneous heating and ignítion This hazard does not apply to rubber which is not ground, powdered, or granulated, nor to rubber scrap in the form of dense homogeneous non porous sheets or rolls.
