Characteristic properties, cautions, markings required

Propellant explosives (solid) Class B include propellant explosives (solid) for cannon, small arms, rockets, guided missiles, or other devices. Black powder is not classified as a propellant explosive. (8ee: Black powder, $146.20-100.)

Propellant explosives as prepared for shipment that are sensitive to detonation are Class A explosives. (Bee: Propellant explosives, Class A, 146.20-100.)

Not more than 1,000 small arms primers may be included in one outside shipping container with solid propellant explosives. The inside container shall meet ICC requirements and be so packed as to prevent movement in the outside container.

Each outside container must be plainly marked "Propellant Explosives (Solid) Class B" or "Propellant Explosives (Solid),

Railway torpedoes must be so constructed and packed that loose pyrotechnic composition will not be present in packages in transportation. Each outside container will be plainly marked "Railway Torpedoes-Handle Care fully-Keep Fire Away. Do not stow in same compartment with any inflammable liquid or solid, inflammable compressed gas or combustible organic material. Rocket ammunition is fixed ammunition which is fired from a tube, launcher, rails, trough, or other device, consisting of an igniter and propelling charge, commonly described as a motor, and empty projectile, inertloaded projectile, solid projectile, or without projectile.

Each outside package must be plainly marked with the appropriate descriptive name of the contents as "Rocket ammunition with empty projectiles," "Rocket ammunition with inertloaded projectiles," "Rocket ammunition with solid projectiles," or "Rocket ammunition without projectiles."
