If private power companies can secure copper there
is no reason why cooperatives should not be per-
mitted the same privilege; otherwise better terri-
tory will soon be served making it impossible to
serve outlying areas.
Power company line completed on Nov. 14 cutting
cooperative area. Do not know where company
secured copper and other material.

Cooperative has 200 miles of poles standing and is
unable to get conductor whereas the power com-
pany has been building lines all summer.

Power company measured off 100 feet from coopera-
tive's stakes and started to work to have their line
energized before those of project; project finished
first.
Power company promising cooperative members
quick construction and telling members no scarcity
of materials exists. Actions of utility working
hardship on territory since utility will only serve
that which can be served at a minimum cost.
Members solicited by power company in effort to cut
cooperative lines. Utilities have abundant copper
in warehouses while cooperative has none except
for maintenance.

Cooperative proposed line in area which took in sev-
eral dairies and small farm homes. Utility would
not serve these people prior to cooperative interest
but has now built to several dairies, leaving most
of farms without service.

Power company effort to break up extensions to members. It builds whether people sign or not, trying to get vulnerable spots on project. Cooperative asks if such tactics can't be stopped.

Power company has constructed primary tap lines as shown on attached map. A secondary has been built with aluminum conductor.

Power company has offered to serve at once members
of cooperative saying that it has material. Com-
pany recently built 7 miles of line.

Cooperative lacks materials. Cannot understand
new lines built by private utilities in this area which
do not help defense.
Cooperative without materials; power company com-
pleted 32 miles 22-kilovolt line, offering to serve
cooperative members on C project. Power com-
panies seem to have abundance of materials.

Power company lineman advised cooperative super-
intendent that utility had plenty of material in its
warehouses and this was substantiated by Wayne
Hummell, Mathews Manufacturers representative
of Arlington, Tex.

company is building in best places of section "C."

dairies can't wait longer for service; cooperative
asks if it must stand by and let utility have this
territory?

Cooperative superintendent states that the utility in effort to break up cooperative lines, has built to 4 members by attraction of immediate service and omission of usual contribution in aid of construction.

People of Squirrel Lake and Squaw Lake without
success to get service from power company; area
signed by cooperative. Cooperative without ma-
terials. Now project received notice from Com-
mission that power company filed on Sept. 8 for
authority to serve this area.

Power company telling farmers to get membershi p
fee refunded from cooperative because utility can
get wire to serve them.

Power company building a 66,000-volt line a distance
of 37 miles with aluminum.

Cooperative without materials. Utility relocated
miles of line with new copper and changed it from
3- to 4-wire circuit.

Cooperative awaiting material since March. Mem-
bers felt delay too great. Utility promised im-
mediate service and furnished it to members.
Power company constructing 12 miles paralleling
cooperative lines between Genoa and De Soto.

Cooperative had agreement with A. T. &. T Co. to
serve repeater stations, a job of about 60 miles.
Due to the inability of the cooperative to obtain
materials, the utility commenced construction
and will be finished very shortly.
