10 DESCRIPTION OF PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION Concrete foundation and floor slab, masonry walls, built-up roof, ventilation and fume control devices, bladder maintenance, maintenance bay, adminstrative area, tool storage, utilities control room, latrines and mechanical room. AIR CONDITIONING: 8 TONS 11. SUBSTANDARD: -0 REQUIREMENT: 11,000 SF ADEQUATE: -0PROJECT: Alteration of the existing washrack to provide a Fuel System Maintanance Dock for the 156 Tactical Fighter Group. REQUIREMENT: A covered maintenance dock is required for the disassembly inspection, and repair of aircraft fuel systems. Periodic maintenance of these systems is essential to providing safe and operational aircraft to aircrews. Maintenance of these systems exposes personnel to hazardous fuel fumes which necessitates special design considerations such as explosion proof electrical fixtures, special ventilation systems, and oil/water separators. The facility will also enable aircraft washing and minor corrosion control activities to be accomplished indoors in inclement weather. CURRENT SITUATION: There is no facility of this type in which to do the Fuel Maintenance work. This work is now performed outside on the washrack and bladder maintenance is accomplished in any available facility. IMPACT IF NOT PROVIDED: Without this facility the unit will be unable to effectively maintain its mission. FORM DD1 DEC 76 1391 PREVIOUS EDITIONS MAY BE USED INTERNALLY 4-157 PAGE NO A.
