Dr. Mumford, this is an important matter, a very important branch of the Government, and a very important matter with the people and the Congress; so there is no disposition to rush through it at all. First I want to say the Library of Congress has requested for the fiscal year 1960 a grand total of $14,327,600 and the House of Representatives has allowed a total of $14,292,900 or a minor reduction of $34,700. The amount allowed by the House is $903,709 over the appropriations for the current fiscal year.
