A CHRISTMAS ROSE:

By

A BLOSSOM IN SEVEN PETALS,

R. E. FRANCILLON,

IS THE TITLE OF THE NEW, ORIGINAL, AND REMARKABLE STORY WHICH FORMS

GRANT & CO.'S CHRISTMAS NUMBER FOR 1888. Fifteenth Year of Publication.

The story touches the obscure but interesting Jacobite plots. The scene is laid partly in the city of Gloucester, partly on the borders of what was then the almost savage region of the Forest of Dean. There is not a character or incident in this strange story, however unlikely or romantic it may seem, which is not needful to account for the question which was submitted to some barrister learned in the law for his Opinion, in the days of the grandfathers of many persons who are now living. 'A CHRISTMAS ROSE,' the fifteenth of the famous series of Mr. Francillon's Christmas Stories, will certainly be welcomed as a brilliant addition to the long roll which began with Like a Snowball' &c. &c.

To secure a supply of the First Edition, Orders should be given at once. Show Cards on application.
