LETTER OF TRANSMITTAL.

To His Excellency, Everett J. Lake,

Governor:

September 5, 1922.

SIR:

As provided by statute, I have the honor to submit herewith the thirtieth report of the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Respectfully,

WILLIAM S. HYDE,

Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Factory Inspection.

RECOMMENDATION

Section 2416 of the General Statutes requires that occupational diseases shall be reported to this Department. It would seem that occupational diseases would more naturally come under the supervision of the Board of Health, and that more would be accomplished of a beneficial nature by having these reports made to that Board. I would, therefore, recommend that these reports be sent to the Board of Health instead of to this Department.
