II.. The General Regulations (paragraph 181) allow three months'

leave of absence to the graduates of the Military Academy on entering the service.

In accordance with this regulation, all the graduates above named will report in person, at their proper stations, on the 30th of September next.

III..The graduates assigned to the corps of engineers and to the ordnance will, on the receipt of this order, immediately report by letter to the chiefs of their respective corps in this city.

Those assigned to regiments will, in like manner, report by letter to the commanding officer of their respective regiments, who will assign to companies those who have not been so assigned by this order. If the stations of the regimental commanders be not known, their reports will be forwarded, under cover, to the Adjutant General for transmittal.

IV.. The transportation allowance (mileage) to which graduates will be entitled in traveling from West Point to their posts, under the fore. going orders, will be paid in advance of the performance of the journeys,
