5. Hereafter the saber belt will be considered as consisting of the following components, viz: Waist belt, saber belt slide, and saber attachment. Officers who have been heretofore accounting for saber belts as exclusive of the saber attachment are authorized to drop the requisite number of saber attachments on their property papers so as to account for the complete number of saber belts on hand.

The price of the saber belt as herein defined is $1.25.

The following letter from the Acting Secretary of the Treasury is published to the Army for the information of all concerned:

The Honorable the SECRETARY OF WAR.

SIR: I have the honor to inform you that the First National Bank of Montgomery, Ala., has this day been designated a depositary of public moneys and specially designated for the reception and safe-keeping of funds advanced to disbursing officers of your Department, to take the place of the Merchants & Planters-Farley National Bank of Montgomery, this day discontinued as a depositary.

The Merchants & Planters-Farley National Bank has been instructed to transfer the balances standing therewith to the credit of U. S. disbursing officers to like credit with the First National Bank of Montgomery, and the latter has been directed to pay all checks drawn on the former against said balances which may be outstanding and unpaid at the time of the transfer. The security of the First National Bank is $50,000 U. S. bonds.

The provisions of Circular, No. 30, War Department, June 1, 1906, restricting leaves of absence to officers of the Army between July 1 and September 30, 1906, will not apply to officers of the coast artillery, since coast artillery troops will not take part in duty at the maneuver camps of instruction.
