About the author (2000)

About the Author Beth Reiber worked for several years in Tokyo as the editor of the Far East Traveler. Now a freelance travel writer residing in Lawrence, Kansas, with her husband and two young sons, she is the author of several Frommer's guides including Frommer's Tokyo and Frommer's Hong Kong. She also contributes to Frommer's Europe from $60 a Day, Frommer's Southeast Asia, and Frommer's USA. Janie Spencer spent 7 years in Japan working for the Tokyo Journal and Kyodo News Service. A freelance writer, she now lives near Paris with her husband and daughter.
